Individual therapy is a collaborative effort, in which we work together to address your presenting concerns while strengthening your ability to live a healthy and balanced life in the long run. While I am certainly mindful of the commitment entailed in weekly visits, therapy is an act of self-care and requires an investment of time, motivation and money. We initially meet on a weekly basis, in order to identify the presenting concerns and establish a foundation of trust and safety. As you progress through your goals, we will revisit your schedule and adjust accordingly.
Collateral/Family Sessions:
At times, addressing the system of the family assists with progress in the individual’s goals within therapy. This is often true when working with adolescents in therapy. Therefore, therapy sessions that include the caretakers or immediate family unit, may be encouraged as collateral work to the individual work being done. We will introduce this on a case by case basis.
